Heath Drive, Hampstead, NW3
Residential, Conservation – 21 apartments
The corner site of 1,595 m² was originally occupied by a detached dwelling, which the council initially insisted on retaining. The planning strategy was focused on demonstrating that the proposed development would enhance the character and appearance of the conservation area. After a public inquiry, it was determined that the mature trees lining the site boundary, which were preserved within the design, contributed more positively to the area than the existing building.
Permission was granted to demolish the original dwelling and construct 21 residential apartments, all sold off-plan. The development was completed in 2017.
